Wind-Down Reminders: A Heads-Up Before Bedtime

Every bedtime routine has the same failure mode: you don't notice it's almost time until it's already time. The nap window closes while you're mid-load-of-laundry, or bedtime arrives and there's suddenly no runway left for a bath, a book, or anything calmer than "into the crib, lights off, good luck." The routine doesn't fail because it's a bad routine. It fails because nobody got a heads-up.

What it actually does

Wind-down reminders fire a set number of minutes before your kid's own predicted bedtime or next nap. Not a fixed clock time, but the same personalized prediction already shown on the Today tab, built from their actual logged history. Turn on bedtime, naps, or both independently, and pick how much lead time you want: 15, 30, 45, or 60 minutes.

The bedtime reminder also includes a specific wind-down idea, matched to your kid's age. Not just "time to wind down," but something to actually do: a bath, a couple of books, a "best part of the day" chat, animal-pose stretches. The idea rotates every time so it doesn't turn into the same notification on repeat, and it automatically shifts to more age-appropriate ideas as your kid grows into the next stage. The nap reminder keeps it simpler: just the heads-up on timing, since a quick daytime nap doesn't really have a routine to walk through the way an evening does.

Turning it on

Open Settings and look for Wind-down reminders, right under Feeding reminders. Toggle on bedtime, naps, or both, set your lead time, and save. That's it. It's a free feature on every account, no upgrade required.
